Sony Ericsson started to roll out its latest firmware (version 2.1.A.0.435 and baseband 2.1.54) for handsets running Global Generic X10a firmware. The improvements that this new firmware brings includes dual-touch and one-finger zoom capabilities, some Mediascape changes, a speedier keyboard, a revamped calendar app and also a video editor (only available for videos taken after the update).
The changes in Mediascape include the ability to use the player in landscape mode, as well as changes to the setting menu and performance improvements. For those looking for root access, fear not as it has been confirmed that SuperOneClick 1.5.5 still works in rooting the handset.
This firmware hasn’t hit X10i handsets yet, but it cannot be too long before it is released. However, checking the PTCRB page, the latest certified update is firmware version 2.1.1.A.0.6 (25 Jan), whereas this 2.1.A.0.435 update was certified on 19 Jan. Maybe Sony Ericsson plans to rollout 2.1.1.A.0.6 to X10i handsets instead in the near future. If you can’t wait, some X10i owners over at xda-developers are already flashing their handsets with this X10a firmware and seemingly everything seems to work. Hi Radv, i m your blog follower
ReplyDeletei need your help urgently...
i just updated my phone fro android 1.6 to 2.1 yesterday
it works but today my phone keep shuting down, why isit so?? have u encounter this problem?? i really need your advice, thanks
Eddie
Hi Eddie, Thanks a ton. Getting to your question quickly. There might be many reasons why your phone keeps shutting down. 1st as you mentioned software getting corrupt. You should connect your phone with SEUS or PC companion and repair/re-install the software for 2.1.
ReplyDelete2.1 is working fine for me and haven't encountered this problem yet.
Another reason could be the battery. If reinstalling doesn't help would recommend you to go to Sony service center and get it checked :)
I assume your phone would still be under warranty as manufacturers give 1 year warranty minimum and it hasn't been a year since its release.

Ravz
Hi Ravz
ReplyDeletethanks for the reply..
i sent back my phone to the manufacturers since the problem still persist even after i change a new battery..
so i get my phone back yesterday but after i use awhile the problem arises again.. and its the same as previously.. the phone kept shutting down and on by itself even when i charged the phone.. and its the same as the phone became hotter and hotter (i mean warmer)
I dont know whats going on with my phone.... Thanks for your advice =) hope to hear from you soon
Regards,
Eddie
Hey mate, don't know if exchange policy is there for your country. Since your phone is getting warmer it does possess health hazard and should be refunded or exchanged with another phone depending upon terms n condition related to your country of purchase. but in short you need to visit the service center again(sorry) and let them know of the problem and if they do not help. You have the right to escalate the matter now that the phone is under warranty :)
ReplyDeleteand do let me know what the outcome is . :) best of luck. hope to hear from u soon.

Ravz
