Updating Xperia X10's Firmware - Tutorial

How does one update their Xperia X10 to the latest firmware?

I'm putting up a small step by step guide on how one can do it. For those who know can skip this tutorial. Its been one of the many FAQ's been asked to me. So here we go

With Update Service you can update your product software for optimal performance and get the latest enhancements. Regardless if you have the latest software, it is a good routine to run Update Service to improve software stability. Make sure to back up your phone content, before doing Update Service.

Minimum Requirements for SEUS

• Internet connection (preferably broadband)
• USB cable
• Intel® Pentium® 4, 2.0 GHz or higher, AMD Athlon
• 500 MB free hard disk space.
• 512 MB RAM
• 1 available USB 2.0 port
• Windows XP™ (Home or Professional) with SP2 or later.
• Microsoft® Windows Vista™ (32/64 bit).
• Microsoft® Windows 7 (32/64 bit).

Install SEUS on your PC and double click on the shortcut Icon for SEUS on your desktop once Installed

• The phone needs to be fully charged before attempting to update your phone.

• Click on the check box for "I hereby accept the license agreement".

• Click Start.

• Select X10 and Click Next.

• Turn off the Phone.

• Remove the phone battery and wait before reinserting it.

• Connect the Micro USB Cable to a USB port on your PC

• Press and Hold the back button on the phone while plugging the USB cable into your phone

• Continue holding the back button

• Click Install


Voila !!! your phone is updated to the latest firmware :)

Note:  If it says your phone already has the latest software, still continue.
